First Aid / CPR

Overview
This course is a basic First Aid / CPR American Heart Association, 2 year Certification training program.

Purpose:
To certify personnel in Basic First Aid and Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation.

Format:
This course consists of lectures, classroom demonstrations, and presentations.

Classroom Modules:
Law, First Responder, scene survey, stay or move, body survey, bleeding, head concussion, nose bleeds, shock, delayed shock, electric shock, electric shock, anaphylactic shock, heat exhaustion, heat stroke, seizures, diabetic seizures, poisons, burns, fever, impaled objects, fractures, sprains, bites, stings, snake bites, pole climbing, foreign substance in eyes, water emergencies, heat attack, stroke, drug & alcohol, chemicals, fire, bloodborne pathogens, personal protective equipment, and general hazard prevention.

Hands-On Student Activities:
CPR using pocket masks and other barriers and mannequins.

Audience:
All interested personnel.

Cost:
Minimum number of Students is 6

6-19 students $90 per student
20+ $85 per student
   

Location:
All courses are conducted at the Beaumont Emergency Services Training Complex (BEST Complex) located in Beaumont, Texas. The facility is designed to offer training for emergency services.

Policies:
For the safety of our students and instructors, and for an uninterrupted course structure, guidelines have been set for course participation. Inability to meet prerequisites set by BEST Complex may result in incomplete training and therefore render participant ineligible to receive course Certificate of Completion.

Physical Condition of Student:

All students must arrive for training free of any condition, physical or other that would prevent them from actively participating in all course activities. Due to the strenuous work requirements in some areas, we strongly recommend that each student secure a professional evaluation of their physical condition before enrollment.

Financial Responsibility For Medical Treatment:
Payment for all medical care, first aid and related charges, if needed, will be the sole responsibility for the sponsoring corporation, business, organization or individual.

Fees:
Fees paid for courses do not include meals or lodging. Tuition must be paid prior to or on the first day of class unless your company has made other arrangements for payment. Prices for individual courses are subject to change without notice. Specialized Training Class Request form is to be filled out listing all attendees and faxed to BEST Complex at 409-833-2376.

Substitutes:
If an enrolled student is unable to attend, a substitute may be sent if that person is eligible under the conditions previously stated.

Cancellation:
There may be cases where the desired course does not have the minimum number of attendees in order to hold the course. In such cases the course will be cancelled.

Due to the Industrial environment of BEST Complex the following attire is required for all Specialized Training courses. Please convey requirements to all participants.

  • Full-length pants are required
  • Short sleeves are allowed, but sleeveless shirts are prohibited
  • Closed-toed shoes must be worn
