Flat Pit

On the flat pit project, the students are once again exposed to LPG, but the addition of liquid fuel spill and equipment exposure adds a new element of concern. While students build on capture, control and fuel isolation techniques learned during the LPG evolution, they will also be taught proper techniques for protecting exposed equipment while controlling and extinguishing a hydrocarbon ground spill fire. The simulation here might be that of a ruptured fuel tank and damage to adjacent hydrocarbon piping.
